Community Work

AIM Free Clinic

Since 2019, I have been an active volunteer at the AIM Free Clinic, which serves underinsured and uninsured patients in the Harrisburg area. Currently, visits are by appointment only. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in helping or visiting the clinic.

Refugee Initiative

In the year 2020, I served as Co-President of the Refugee Initiative, a medical student-run organization at Penn State College of Medicine. The organization serves eleven refugee families in the Harrisburg area with social services, market visits, and tutoring. During the pandemic, I organized a fundraiser for pandemic rent relief that raised more than $10,000 thanks to our community’s generosity!

Food Pantry

From November 2015 to May 2018, I served as a director of the Food Pantry at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh.

The pantry serves more than one hundred diverse households across the Pittsburgh area annually, and is constantly seeking to improve.

I developed multilingual accessibility, created access to healthcare services, co-organized a bicycle race food drive, and kickstarted an ESL program in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council.
